Is this foot drop?

Hi
Had a sudden horrendous pain in buttock and my leg went weak and could barely walk
Now I'm left with less pain but noticed I can't lift the ball of my foot off the ground and have pins and needles in foot and calf
I read up on drop foot, but I can lift my toes, and my foot isn't dragging or slapping on floor, I just can't lift the ball of my foot off floor, so would it be drop foot?
Thank you

It does sound similar to when I had a herniated disc causing foot drop. I did have the inability to move my toes and a dragging foot but there are different degrees. If you sit with your legs straight out in front can you flex the "bad" foot towards you?

Not an expert but I reckon this is a 111/A&E situation. I also had this occur at the weekend and was advised A&E - I did have a bit of a wait but then got an MRI fairly quickly.

Hopefully you are typing this from A+E? Sudden horrendous pain followed by neurological change is an emergency.

Physio is really important but I am surprised there was no mention of an MRI with sudden onset neurological symptoms. I know it can be a total pain trying to get an appointment but I would definitely push for someone to see you face to face and ask about an MRI just so they know what you're actually dealing with. Be really clear about the neurological symptom of foot drop.
I had sudden onset excruciating lower back pain and leg pain on one side and then suddenly I couldn't lift my foot, move my toes or feel all the way down my lower leg and top of foot - just from a small disc herniation that happened to be pushing on a nerve!

Please go to A and E,it's an emergency,I'm stunned your GP didn't advise you to go.
