Should I ask for my tooth to be extracted?

I gad a root canal last week. I've been in horrendous pain since Friday to now.
I did phone 111 and was sent to a dentist that was open on Saturday. They x-ray it said it is infected. Given amoxicillan. Been taking them since Saturday afternoon. Still got to finish the course of amoxicillan. I have been having regular painkillers bur they are not helping.
I've booked to see my usual dentist tomorrow. What are my options. Shall I ask for it to be extracted?

Is it a molar tooth? Will you see if it's gone? I'd get advice from the dentist before you decide what to do. Removing it might be your only option.

I'm going for an apiceoctomy next week on a failed root canal, but it's a front tooth and worth trying to save. If it was a back tooth I honestly wouldn't care and would get it removed.

I didn’t have the root canal and had tooth out

its at the back and was 20 minutes done

@Mygosh it's a back tooth. Although it can be seen if I smile but not too obvious.
Good luck with the apiceoctomy xx

@MeDadMeDad thank you. Good luck too, I understand your pain. Nothing worse than toothache!

Had one last spring and after 2 lots on antibiotics I gave in and had it out, instant relief, there wasn't that much left to save anyway.
