Has anyone any experience of this .I have tinnitus and fullness under ears. This has been 2 months and I thought things would be better now. I do have an ENT appointment soon.

Yes in right ear only, I’m thinking about acupuncture although have no experience and don’t know how effective it is

Pumpkin112 · 05/12/2025 12:39

How long have you had it for ..what are the symptoms you have

11 years on and off but has always been long periods of no symptoms, since October been more noticeable.

How was it initially and how long did it take to become manageable. I am a bit in the dark about all this

Tinnitus is unlikely to go away once you’ve got it.

The fullness around the ears is a typical symptom which I began suffering from way back in 1998 in both ears.

Your tinnitus will eventually settle and the fullness will possibly fade.

Tinnitus comes with all sorts of variations; clicking, clanging, whooshing, distant screaming or singing!

It can be very debilitating at first but tell yourself “it’s just another noise” and carry on.

I hope your ENT visit is reassuring and conclusive but as far as I’m aware there is no cure for tinnitus.

From now on, look after your hearing. No loud concerts or gigs. Sit well away from music speakers at loud parties or receptions. Cover your ears in cold weather. Tinnitus can often be a precursor for hearing loss too.

Good luck OP.

Thank you. Hopefully things will settle down. Just kicking myself as went to a gig with a friend and it was so loud

I wear loop earplugs to stop any further damage, think mine came from loud headphones, I’ll never use headphones again! Mine has fully disappeared sometimes for years but normally comes back

Pumpkin112 · 05/12/2025 13:13

How long did it take to disappear

OP posts:
DogsandFlowers · 05/12/2025 13:15

I think a few weeks originally but it’s been on and off since 2014

Pumpkin112 · 05/12/2025 13:22

Thanks. I don’t mind the on and off. Fingers crossed things will improve for me

Yes I hope so, invest in some ear protection and use it whenever you go out I wish I had earlier

Pumpkin112 · 05/12/2025 16:26

I don’t think I’m ever going out again. I am just not sure how long I’m going to get these symptoms for. I also had a bad cold and awful cough about 3 days later
