Itchy foot for months!

So about three months ago I started feeling an itch in the arch of my right foot. Its not going away. I've looked very closely, there are no visible marks, cracking, redness, change in texture or anything. All the skin in the area looks fine but the itch is in a very specific spot and bothers me throughout the day. I'm constantly scratching it with my other foot. It doesn't seem to have spread.

What could possibly be causing such a sustained itch in a specific spot?

For added context, I suffer from chronic spontaneous urticaria (chronic hives) which I control with one cetirizine tablet a day (10mg). That stops the hives and associated itching, but has no effect on my foot itching. So I don't think it has anything to do with my hives.

Grateful for any insights!

It maybe a fungal infection. Try Daktacort if they still make .
You want something with something like Miconazole nitrate in to deal with any fungal side as opposed to just hyrocortisone.

A friend had a furiously itchy sole of her foot and it turned out this solved it.

Could it be pompholyx? I get that on one foot from time to time and it drives me mad. The only thing that sorts it is steroid cream from the doctor, alternated with hydromol intensive

Thank you, I was also wondering this but there's nothing visible at all, I was expecting to see ringworm or something. I guess I can still try antifungal cream and see if it helps.

Had to Google that, it looks like a fairly visible thing. I have nothing visible, just looks like my normal skin like the other foot. Thank you though.

I agree, I'd try an athlete's foot cream. I had exactly the same thing last summer and there was barely anything visible, just a very slight dryness, yet extreme itchiness. I used the cream and within two or three days it had stopped. I kept using it for about a month, just to make sure.

(I had pompholyx/dishydrotic eczema years ago and that is very visible so it won't be that.)
