Sounds like a ganglion.

See the GP.

Have a look at Iota's link.

They are a kind of cyst - can be drained or removed. If they drain it, it can come back so they often take them out.

fullmoonfiend · 09/06/2008 18:33

it will be a ganglion. Either you can bash it hard with a big book (like the bible) or leave it, look after your wrsit and it may eventually go. Or see GP (best option...)

electricbarbarella · 09/06/2008 18:34

I have a ganglion, have had it for years, sometimes if I bang it it goes away but it always comes back, it doesn't hurt often, only seems to be when it has a mad growth just before it bursts and we start all over again.

SparklyGothKat · 09/06/2008 18:34

do they drained it with a needle?? [faints]

OP posts:
SparklyGothKat · 09/06/2008 18:47

I have never had mine removed, don't see the point, it stops hurting once it has grown (sorry this sounds really gross doesn't it). The doctor told me it would go away and it never has, they actually operate to remove it but I can't be without one hand these days so i will just live with it.

I had one and it went away on its own

MargaretMountford · 09/06/2008 19:20

I wonder if that's what I have on my foot ( on top of bone on top of foot) ?

Lushaddict · 09/06/2008 19:24

I had one and I bashed it against the table in a fit of temper once (not trying to get rid of it..just having a strop!).

It's never come back

MargaretMountford · 10/06/2008 12:25

It is the thing on my foot - so says the doctor today - they recommend surgery if it gets bigger or is painful - oh eeew ! feet are so bony and scary
