Flu vaccine 3 weeks postpartum

Looking to see if anyone has had any vaccines this early postpartum? Would I expect to feel even more wiped out than I already do? I am 3 weeks postpartum (c section) haven’t had my flu jag yet but considering it this year as I have a toddler as well as a newborn.

A bit apprehensive of feeling rubbish and tired for a day or two as I am already totally exhausted and sleep deprived. Just got over a cold from my toddler which hasn’t helped. I keep seeing scary headlines about a new ‘drifted’ flu strain. Does anyone know if this years vaccine is a good match for it?

My toddler had the flu vaccine, my 4yo had a cold so couldn't and I wasn't offered. Me and my son had five days of temps ranging from 39.5-40.3C. Bed bound. Absolute hell, I still feel awful two weeks on. I don't remember any issues with the vaccine when I was pregnant and whatever they might be fade into insignificance when faced with having flu, caring for another ill child and entertaining a perfectly healthy toddler. Definitely have it.

You can have the flu vaccine any time after giving birth, if you’ve not had any reaction before, there’s a good chance you won’t have any this time. My adult DS and his GF have had this new flu/virus, they were really poorly, myself and DH who have had flu vaccine didn’t catch it from them.

That sounds awful sorry to hear you were so poorly :( yes my toddler is also vaccinated so it would be tough to keep him entertained and look after my newborn while poorly!

Thank you. I have had mixed reactions with vaccine. Felt pretty wiped out for a week after the whooping cough one in my second pregnancy but felt ok after it in my first. Felt rubbish after Covid vaccine. Haven’t had the flu one. Do you mine me asking how you felt after your flu vaccine?

No reaction at all.
