Small Cyst - worth going private?

Hi

I have a small cyst on the back of my neck. GP confirmed it is a cyst and nothing more sinister. But when i enquired about removal was told not on NHS.

Has anyone had something like this removed privately? How much and where?

This is small at the moment but I do feel self conscious when i tie up my hair as it is visible, and I am very aware of any blemishes after many, many years of bad skin.

I had a large cyst on my arm removed last year privately at a Spire hospital. It was through my employer's AXA healthcare scheme, but I can see the costs and it was just shy of £1500 in total. However, the day surgery itself was £841, the rest of the costs were flipping consultations. The first was an initial consultation with a dermatologist at £195 who just referred me on, an initial consultation with the plastic surgeon and a follow-up with him afterwards which lasted all of 5 minutes, so if I had been paying myself I would probably have done a bit more research around prices!

How long have you had it? They sometimes do just go on their own

Gosh Slimshady- that’s pricey! Insurance pricing I guess.

I was looking at smaller local ‘clinics’ but they won’t give a price online.

At least six months - maybe it will. It’ s not huge and likely no one else will see it but I know it’s there.

You could give it a bit longer. I had one on my eyebrow for months that just went. I’ve got another one though that I’ve had 30 years so it can go either way
