Looking for healthy top tips and new routines

While I have a free minute over half term, I’m wanting to tap into any general health recommendations or tips people might have.
I find the breadth of stuff on the internet overwhelmingly-healthiest foods, best supplements, super foods (is there even such a thing?) so wanted to source recommendations or ideas from others.
Not too fussed about weightless etc, more about what I’m putting into mine (and 2 dc) bodies.
Already aiming to increase fibre-chia seeds added every day, and cut alcohol.
Any other recommendations/ideas?
Thanks .

I think you need to start by looking and what you’re already doing. If you’renjaving cocopops for breakfast, ham sandwhich for lunch and ready made pizza for dinner then the advice will be very different to if you’re having greek yoghurt, fruit and seeds, home made veg packed lunch and home made chicken and chickpea curry for dinner.

Thinking about tweaks to health is always a good idea. I should do the same.

Cook from scratch, avoid processed food, look at your water in take and consider increasing it. More plants in your diet if you are not already vegetarian, limit social media and prioritise sleep. Absolutely cut out all alcohol. It’s a toxin :)

Buy food in as close to its natural state as possible. (That’s where your fibre comes from - eating the whole fruit for example, rather than juicing or buying juice.)

Use sources beyond supermarkets.

Accept that we have unrealistic expectations regarding the cost of food in the UK - good food costs money. (Unless you can grow your own.)

Obviously, try to ensure everyone in the household is or becomes proficient in preparing snacks or meals from scratch with the decent ingredients in your cupboards and fridge. Explore the vast range of flours available and experiment with baking. If you always have a good seasonal homemade cake (gingerbread is heavenly at this time of year) available, no one will want sugar filled, artificial ingredient rich confectionary stuff from shops.

This is a good place to start. Scroll past donations bit and go straight to free database. (Best viewed on a wide screen.)
