I hahve had 2 children, both vaginal births. After the first one I had 3 or 4 vaginal stitches, and nothing after the second one.
pre kids I have quite a tight vagina and did lots of kegels and I think it was all ok after the first one.

After the second child, nearly 3yrs ago, I have felt that the inside of my vagina is a bit "baggy", but the kegels seem to work-I can feel them tighten up and I can feel this internally if a put a finger in.

Recently, in the last 3months or so, I havhe found it harder to pass a motion, it just takes longer and I seem to need 2-3 goes.
I have some pressure building up around my bum and when I strain (a little) it just deosn't seem that productive.

I know it sounds grim, but it has felt like my perineum is bulging around this area when I need a poo. I've never felt it before so it is hard to know if this is always the case with everyone, or if I have somthing new and different going on.

Thanks for reading so dar- it gets worse so avert your eyes if squeamish.
Today I out my finger in my vagina after an unproductive poo session and could feel an enormous "sausage" of poo through the back wall of my vagina. it seemd to be bulging right into it

Does this sound normal to you guys?
I've never investigated around there before kids (why would you?) and have only been poking aorund like this since I had a problem, so I don't know if it is normal or not.

Any advice/ecperience of what I wonder may eb a rectal muscle tear/dysfunction.
Please anwswer_ i am a little bit desperate. It would be goof if any of you felt brave enough to have a feel yourselves (not feeling me!) and let me know how your bits feel.

I am not a troll, but obviously a name change is in order here {sad]

Please help me out- you're my only hope

Me? I live in Edinburgh...and have no private healthcare

Twinkie1 · 06/06/2008 08:15

Oooooohhhhh that almost the Isle of Skye!

Just see if you can be referred to someone else. Or come and live with me for a while and gt him to do it in London.

HereComeTheGirls · 06/06/2008 08:16

I will investigate...or I will turn up on your doorstep tomorrow

Twinkie1 · 06/06/2008 08:17

Well make sure it is before 10am as we are off to the fire station open day and no one will be here to let you in!

HereComeTheGirls · 06/06/2008 08:20

You will come home to find a weird Scotswoman with undercarriage problems on your doorstep

HereComeTheGirls · 06/06/2008 08:26

Thanks for the advice btw

Twinkie1 · 06/06/2008 08:28

Thats ok - our neighbours are nice though and she has seen the same surgeon - just knock on her door!

Hope things work out ok down there/up there for you!

HereComeTheGirls · 06/06/2008 08:30

Thanks,..it is bearable at the moment, although not exactly making me feel like having more kids, even though they won't do the op until afterwards ~sigh~ You ARE on friendly terms with your neighbour BTW

Twinkie1 · 06/06/2008 08:31

Yes - one of them - not the twunt we have the boundary wall problem with but other neighbour is lovely - slightly bonkers in a nice way but lovely all the same!

HereComeTheGirls · 06/06/2008 08:34

Better not go to the wrong neighbour then

dilbertina · 06/06/2008 08:35

hmmm, I suspect I had this for a few months shortly after ds birth - being chicken I left it for a while and it seems to have sorted itself out - at least enough for it not to cause any problems. Good luck!

Reesie · 06/06/2008 22:09

It definatelely sounds like a rectocele. I have one - it's not that uncommon. Many women have pelvic floor prolapses and just think that it is 'normal' after childbirth and never get checked out. In one research 46% of first time mums were identified as having a prolase in pregnancy.

What you need is a check up - you'll be referred to a gynaecologist who spends his/her whole day looking up different womens fanjo's.

I meant that as to say - don't be embarissed about getting an examination done. A prolase is just a slight mechanical malfunction that can be sorted out!

thnaks for all the advice.
I have been thinkng about this all day.
I bust my coccyx a while ago and thought the "sausage up the bum"feeling was all about that. Now i realise it is the bulging bum bit

I have decided to have my coil removed initially- had it 3 months and it makes periods very heavy and painfl.
The bum thing means that i can't use internal stuff- mooncup leaks and tampons just not right IYSWIM.
So, heavy periods aren't good.
We are going campning around the time my period is due in 2 months- will be at a festival. So having a period and no internal protection will be a bloody nightmare- so i wondered about the merina coil for a sort term (i won't tell the drs it is short term)
Anyone got any advice?

and I must must must lose weight and will hopefully eat alot more roughage etc (i do eat quite alot nayway) and see how the bum goes.

I suspect surgery will be needed, though, it has been quite a problem for a month.
