dehydration?

ladylush · 05/06/2008 08:26

I used to get them when running. Changed to other types of cardio exercise - no problems.

thanks. I suggested dehydration to him. He's cycling a lot.

i would say dehydration too.

When I was little I used to get headaches from running and jumping. I think it was the thump-thump that caused it.

belgo · 05/06/2008 08:40

thanks. I've looked it up on the internet and all the advice seems to be : go to your gp to get it checked out. I'll tell him that (not that he listens to me!)

could be dehydration if he is not replacing fluids adequately. It might be worth getting his blood pressure checked though.

belgo · 05/06/2008 09:39

thanks lem. I think he's prone to low blood pressure.

I'd say dehydration too. Is he getting enough salt in his diet?

belgo · 05/06/2008 09:41

I do wonder if he eats enough during the day, he's gone from the house for 12 hours and sometimes he only eats sandwiches in that time. So salt and sugar may be an issue.

Get his blood pressure checked as high Blood Pressure can give you headaches and your BP will go up during excercise and may take a while to come down. It may be the excercise is too intense as a consequence.

I used to get this after running. Dehydration. Bought a box of those sports salts that you dissolve in water and drink after exercise. Really helped. They're meant for elite athletes who've done the marathon, not people like me who've managed a two mile shuffle round the park but they really helped.
