2025 flu jab reaction?

I don't normally react to flu jabs but unless I've caught a cold, this year's jab seems to be really strong in its effects. Anyone else getting the same?

It also hurt and she hit the bone with the needle, both firsts for me, too.

Like others, not a thing, no lump, no sore arm.

I had mine this morning and didn't feel it go in, no sore arm. Last year I had covid in one arm and flu in the other and felt a bit tired but nothing much. I've never had any other reaction.

The injection actually hurt more this year but no side effects

How can she hit bone! The needle would need to be huge! It’s practically impossible

SilkAndSparklesForParties · 11/10/2025 16:28

I had mine on Tuesday. Didn't hurt and my arm was barely sore. On Thursday I felt dreadful, snotty, achy and slightly feverish. Just as DH felt on Monday and Tuesday. I caught his filthy cold.

I had a sore arm as usual but no other reactions - the one last year made me quite unwell so quite relieved

There are loads of bugs about at the moment so you probably would have got that if you hadn’t had the jab.
Injectors don’t usually pinch the skin as that would be subcutaneous so vaccine would end up in the wrong place. Probably shouldn’t have gone so deep though if you are on the thin side.

Ref the "pinch", every time I've had a vaccine before they take a good bit of flesh and squeeze it gently to lift it up and give them more depth to inject into. That's what I meant. This is the first time they didn't do it and the first time I've felt a jab hit bone.,

It's not impossible at all, it's well documented as a possibility with thin people. I looked it up to see if I should be worried about it.

Sore arm for two days (enough that it woke me when I turned onto it), about a day of mild fake-flu symptoms. About normal for me.

Yep this year i got some kind of reaction...very sore arm, shivery, achey and even a bit of nausea. Stupidly I went for meal with friends straight after jab whereas resting prob best. How are you now OP ?

I'm fine thanks but it took a few days. I hope you're ok too.
