Dry foot

I’ve included a picture, I have one foot that no matter what I try is just dry and gross with quite deep fissures. I’ve tried o’keefes and flexitol, is there something else people recommend?

Query fungal infection? The urea stuff will sort it, but it might take some time. I’ve found the roll on gels more effective than cream (I have one foot with a reduced blood supply after fusion surgery and it grows dry skin as an occupation).

FurForksSake · 05/10/2025 15:45

Thanks both.

interesting you say about the fusion, I have spinal problems and also problems specifically with my right SI joint and hip. My left foot looks relatively ok, the right is just horrid and cold and dry.

Could be Athlete’s Foot

FurForksSake · 05/10/2025 19:21

Isn’t athlete’s foot itchy? I’ve ordered some urea stuff but I’ve got some foot powder so might give it a sprinkle.

Have you tried one of those Footner peel-y foot masks? Do a great job of getting rid of dry/dead skin then keep slathering on the moisturisers.

EBearhug · 05/10/2025 21:58

Which Flexitol are you using? The every day stuff has less urea than the cracked heel version.

But as mentioned, it could be fungal.

FurForksSake · 05/10/2025 22:00

I have done a peel, not recently though…

What would indicate fungal? I’ve got some tablets that I could take for that. Worth a whirl?

I swear by Margaret Dabbs hygiene cream. I suffer with dry feet badly and tried literally everything going. I bought a foot file from them that you use on dry feet, then the cream. It has transformed my feet, use it daily for 2 weeks and you won’t believe the difference. I only did it daily for a week and my feet were so soft then and now I do it just a couple of times a week and use any normal moisturiser inbetween. It has stuff in it to help athletes foot and fungal issues too. I can’t speak highly enough of it, transformed my hoofs!!

Footner the one for diabetic feet is amazing. I’ve struggled for years and it’s the only thing that works

FurForksSake · 21/10/2025 21:41

I bought a 60% urea stick and have been using it, not every day but a lot of days. It’s worked wonders!

@FurForksSake which stick did you buy?🥰

FurForksSake · 21/10/2025 21:48

https://amzn.eu/d/g2Jdomz I got this, which came in a two pack with a manuka honey stick. Which I’ve been using on my feet sometimes and my hands.

I hadn’t used it for at least three days before I took that photo, just to show that they genuinely look better and not just moisturised.

it’s obviously quite sticky but I just stick some socks on and it’s fine.
