If you had this? Photo attached. I feel at rock bottom. My Children have been at there Dads today and I've been sitting at home feeling very very sad and alone, very very low obviously I can't go out. I had my bloods done at Hospital yesterday and they did a swab and took my blood pressure and temp. Etc. I am on antibiotics. I seen the oncall Consultant yesterday who said I absolutely must put steroid cream on this and a Nurse would apply some on me. It stung so much and the Nurse wiped it off. It hurts so much. I am on an immune medication. I'm just sad. My children will be home soon need something nice for dinner.

Goodness OP that looks so sore! I would absolutely feel the way you are describing your feelings to be honest. Is it a new thing or something you have been living with for a while?
Edit to say I have just seen you edit that it is an eczema flare up.
I hope someone comes along with some practical advice and tips for what you might be able to do to help improve it.
Do something nice for dinner and get lots of hugs from your children when they get home.

I’ve been there OP. Sorry, but you need steroid cream. Take painkillers half an hour before (it’ll still sting but you can’t let it get worse).
Then put a towel in hot water, wring it out well and wrap the warm damp towel round your neck. That might soothe it slightly, but more importantly it’ll make the steroid cream absorb much faster and better.
After 20 minutes (assuming no allergy or sensitivity to it) I’d put germolene on- the local anaesthetic in it will stop the sting in minutes.
Set yourself a timer and just aim to tolerate for that 20 minutes. You can do it!

I’ve been there too OP. This is time for steroid cream. I used to waste money and time on everything but this and did more damage.

Oh that is horrible OP.
Not the same but I got scabies last year from DD at university. It took many rounds of creams, plus tablets, to resolve and has left me with excema that I’ve never had before. I was so down when I was itching uncontrollably. You have my sympathy. I hope you feel less desperate soon.

Also, I got a strong steroid cream from the doctor for much less than that and it was miraculous. Please see a GP.

I would take oral steroids if anything topical is stinging. I’ve been there where even water stings. I’ve found a cream called illyoon to be the only thing my skin will tolerate. It’s great stuff with ceramides and no perfumes etc, from Korea - you can get it on amazon.

Betnovate steroid cream was prescribed for me when I had a nasty flare up.
