So i posted yesterday following having a Urology procedure on Tues.
rigid cystoscopy, dilatation & stent insertion…….
pain & bleeding have been unreal since surgery and showing no signs of easing. Been back to the surgical ward who fobbed me off despite blood markers showing signs of infection…..

i then spoke with my GP yday (well locum at my surgery) who prescribed cocodamol for the pain…… if no improvement get back in touch.

painkillers work for about 3 hours then the pains back and unbearable again, obviously I can’t be taking cocodamol every 3 hours so I have to grin & bare it for as long as i can with the hot water bottle.

bleeding isnt for easing off and im really sorry guys but see pic of the sample iv just taken into the surgery now…… doc has told me theres no blood in that sample……???? No blood no infection just ketones so i’m dehydrated despite me drinking 4l of water a day plus iv been having electrolyte powers with water too…..

gp has now said other than give me stronger painkillers iv to go to A&E and “they can sort you out”.

im in pain and feel really let down. Anyone know what is in my urine if its not blood? Iv eaten very little all week and nothing that woukd turn my urine red nor have i had any meds that would.

im not one for going to the docs at all and infact all of this with urology only started after i was admitted to hospital for unknown stomach pain and further investigations found this and another issue. I have endometriosis so stomach for me is par for the course and something im well versed with & the endo is well managed now. So this isnt like the gp is thinking “oh its her again” because I am never there.

it's a post-op complication - it needs the urology team to review and make a plan. There is a limited amount your GP can do. As per advice y'day - you need to be in contact with the urology team via whatever contact number they gave you on discharge or go via ED.

Thanks @Greybeardy i have been intouch with them & i was seen by a jnr urology doc weds in SAECU who wouldn’t do anything because there was no clots in my urine.

that was on wednesday though - it's now friday - their advice might be different today if things aren't improving. No one on here is going to be able to advise much else apart from going in though.

It can be normal for inflammatory markers to go up a bit post op and doesn't always mean infection, but whether that's the case for you depends on the exact breakdown of the results and given no one on here can see the results/ knows exactly what they did intra op/ knows exactly what your pathology is, no one on here can advise what's to be expected normally for you. The photo of they urine you've posted is in a blue bag and in front of a brown surface - it's impossible to tell what's going on with it. If you're in pain that isn't improving with sensible analgesia from the GP then you really need to take advice from the hospital team again, either via the same route you saw them on weds or via ED.

Hi everyone! I thought I would add our campaign link here which is aiming to tackle the systemic sexism women face within UK healthcare. Our campaign, 'Sexism in Healthcare Destroys Lives', is working to change the experience of women with endometriosis. I really hope this resonates with at least one of you? Please find more information on my own personal post :)
