Advice please from anyone who has had Botox for an anal fissure

I had Botox for an anal fissure 2 weeks ago. I can now feel that the muscles are very relaxed and the spasm pain has stopped. The bleeding stopped about a week ago. But the stinging and burning after a bowel movement can carry on for hours and it’s hard to cope with the pain. Overall the pain is worse than before I had it done. Once it wears off which can be anything from 2 to 8 hours I can sit for up to an hour and walk a bit.

Did anyone who has had Botox experience similar? How long did it take for it to improve?

Ive had two goes at Botox, didnt work and ultimately had to have surgery. It seems to me like its a hoop you have to jump through in order to get the surgery, as its cheaper.

Sorry not to have good news.

Was the pain after the Botox worse than before even after two weeks?

I had this year's ago so my memory is a little hazy with the recovery time.

From what I can remember I did take a good few weeks-months for everything to heal up properly and the pain to fully subside.

You need to give the internal tear time to heal and repair itself. The botox is simply to give it the 'rest' it needs in there to be able to do this.

I can happily say that I've not had recurrence since. I suffered for years before this to the point I couldn't even sit down and the pain would make me vomit and almost pass out with every bowel movement.

Give it time. It's an open wound.

Thanks @Kpopdeamonhunter yes that accurately describes the pain. I despair how I will ever work again as I can only lay down most of the time. Before the Botox I managed to sit up and work.

I shudder when I remember how bad it was. Even the thought of it makes me feel ill.

Also, remember that they will likely have caused a little extra damage when inserting the tools to administer the botox. You will likely have a little extra pain from that too as it potentially could have stretched the tear a bit more.

I found long hot baths with Epsom salts really helped soothe the stinging.

Here's hoping it all goes well and heals up quickly for you.
