I haven't personally, but one of my close friends did.
She said it was immensley painful when she first woke up after the operation, but once she had recovered, she swore it was the best thing she had ever done.
She'd always suffered from awful back problems etc and felt physically much better.

electricbarbarella · 03/06/2008 13:54

I have, xmas eve last year, tis the best thing I have ever done. i have had no back pain since and I used to wake up every night in agaony. I do yoga and if I missed aweek by the end of the second week I was in pain all the time, now i am finbe.
Ask me any questions.

Went from a 34G to a much perkier 34E 3 years ago and don't regret it for a second. Wish I'd done it sooner! Didn't have any pain at all throughout the whole time. Had mild discomfort the moment they took the drains out but that's all. Make sure you research it and get a very good surgeon. I can recommend one if you're in the South.

electricbarbarella · 03/06/2008 14:25

I went from a 34 g/h to a 34d, recovery did take 4 weeks, 6 till I was totally capable of doing everything. I don't remember the pain being too bad was an unusual feeling as you can't really use your arms much to start with.
Can't remember exact times but I had it done on xmas eve and we moved on 28 feb and i was definalty ok by then, as in did most of the packing.
they are fab as well, I don't have to wear a bra if i don't want which is so lovely after having to wear one until I went to bed and then putting it straight back on the second I stood up in the morning, i am a lot more comfortabkle and a lot happier with my body now.

Prufrock · 03/06/2008 14:28

I'm booked into have mine done on 24th June. I'll be going from a 30G to a 30DD, and hopefully much perkier - my nipples are going to be raised by 8cm!

Quadrophenia · 03/06/2008 14:29

I've had one too, was the best thing I ever did, recovery was about 6 weeks IIRC, mine was over two years ago and you have to look carefully to see the scar.

mymittens · 03/06/2008 14:30

thanks bunch would be good to hear who you're surgeon was - i'm in the south/east

OP posts:
mymittens · 03/06/2008 14:31

oh wow prufrock - good luck - can't wait to hear how it goes!! are going going private or nhs?

OP posts:
Bunch · 03/06/2008 14:32

I'll have to dig out my paperwork and let you know. His name was Nick and he's an Army surgeon but does private work from the BUPA hospital in Havant, Portsmouth. He is wonderful!! Know 2 other people who have had breast surgery by him and we think he is God!

electricbarbarella · 03/06/2008 14:42

mine was on nhs, can't really see scars and it is less thasn 6 months.
Good luck pru.

SniffyHock · 03/06/2008 14:44

I had one last year - I even posted photos a few weeks ago!!! Best thing I ever did. Went from a 34G to a perky 34E - Love 'em

Piffle · 03/06/2008 14:51

I'm a 30hh dying to be 30 c/d ( snake hips)
oh pru its me you're stalker
freaky huh even our tits are similar

Prufrock · 03/06/2008 16:20

Private, with Mr Rajiv Grover- Aloha (if anyone remembers her) recommended him and he was lovely. Actual Op will be at King Edward VII's, which has NEVER had a case of MRSA, and apparently elective GA is is safer than the taxi ride to the hospital. So I'm not nervous at all (well maybe just a tiny bit).

Hello piff. How are you feeling?

Piffle · 03/06/2008 16:58

I'm lovely atm pru thanks. Got the chronic pain out of the way so things much better.
just need rid of these mammaries then I'll be tip top
you having your op in London pru? How long you going in for?
good luck

Piffle · 03/06/2008 17:00

actually pru if you don't mind ( vulgar asking I know) what cost? Can mail me if you prefer kiwisbird at gmail dot com
have £4500 saved already....

Prufrock · 03/06/2008 18:43

It's £6,350 piffle- £3,500 for the surgeon, £600 for the anesthetist, £1,900 for op and one night in hospital and an extra £350 for a second night in hospital which is just so I get some rest rather than being medically necessary. I'm hoping for this effect

Piffle · 03/06/2008 19:34

thanks prufrock for that.
I'm chomping at the bit for it now. Shelling out £70 per month on bloody bras because I wreck them...

I'd not be able to do London though. Shame as your surgeon seems top drawer. But the travel afterwards and back after two weeks would be hard work.
I'll see if gp can recommend one... I'd prefer one I've heard is good. I may even get an nhs one BUT as we could afford it, I feel we should pay for it. Dp is less altruistic though
really good luck you must be sooooooo excited.

mymittens · 03/06/2008 20:04

thanks for all your replies! I'm also wondering how small i can/should go if i have it done. I'm a 34g/gg atm (size 12 at the bottom) I know there's no guarantee you end up with the cup size you ask for, was thinking about a D?

OP posts:
Piffle · 04/06/2008 08:35

I have tiny hips only 31 inches so my huge 30hh knickers look like comedy props.
I think c/d for me...
I think size 12 can carry dd cup if you have curvy hips. Would give you gorgeous hourglass figure too?

SniffyHock · 04/06/2008 09:55

Piffle my surgeon works in Staffordshire and was brilliant. It was just over £5000 I think which included everything but just one night in hospital.

Mymittens - I would trust your surgeon on size - he will know what's best. I had hardly any tissue taken out, by the time he'd done the lift they were perfect. I'm still an F cup which sounds big but doesn't look it. A friend of mine has DD implants and they look mahoosive!! It's only important that they balance out your body.

mymittens · 04/06/2008 10:33

the surgeon i say said mine were mainly tissue rather than fat, so don't know if that will affect things? he said the absolute smallest i could go would be c/d but i need to decide if i wnat to go down that nuch . I think ideally dd would be great but worry that if i put on weight or decide to have another baby (vvv unlikely which is shy i'm keen to have it done asap) they'll end up too big again!

OP posts:
bealcain · 04/06/2008 10:41

sorry to crash, i'm 32K nad only going to go down to an E/f, think i'd look really silly with anything smaller, but was debating the idea of having implants at the same time as some pix i have seen of people from the surgeons office still looked really saggy just smallrer. Do you think implants would be worth it or a step to far? i'm only young so implants changed every 10 years would mean a lot of procedures. Dh thinks i'm just bing silly considering the idea, but he doesn't have tolug the bloody things around!! or pay for the bras!

sorry to crash
