This is not a "oh my good what do I do should we go to A&E" type of post which has been so much criticized here on a thread lately and nearly kept me from posting

My toddler fell and split his lip. I wonder if it will grow with a split so it looks slighthy parted, or if it will come together?

I dont think it needs a stitch as it is not bleeding, and I have never seen a stitched lip. I dont think this warrants a trip to the A&E. But if I am wrong, please tell me, and I will take him to the doctor.

oh, I should check his teeth again. I looked in his mouth with a torch light to see everything was ok in there, but I dont think I checked his teeth.... Thanks.

Going out to play outside in the lovely sunshine now.... We are planting new strawberries in the strawberry field as not all survived the early frosts and heavy snows this winter.

It will grow together.

I did take DS#1 at age about 13 months to A&E because he fell and had blood pouring from his mouth. Very lovely doctor took a look and then told me DS had 'a very nasty split lip' and not to worry It stopped bleeding soon after than and healed within a week.

QS to your thread title - you should know very well from my posts that this situation is NOT what I was talking about.

Anyhow, within a week you probably won't be able to see it.

DD (then 3) had a deep gash in her lip. I did take her to A&E because it looked unlikely to just heal neatly, and because the cut had gone into the lip margin (that's what they said, have no idea what it meant) they did glue it.
She still has a slight bump inside her mouth - the scar from the teeth slicing in.
She got a teddy bear from the A&E and we only had to wait about 30mins.

Ah yes, the teddy bears... we have three, if that tells you anything about my kids

Oooh - I'vejustpostedabout this on another thread...

DS split his lip, proper split, right up to halfway between his nose and his upper lip, when we were on holiday. Very nice first aiders cleaned him up, put a butterfly stitch on which lasted, ooh, half an hour tops. It had already starting knitting together by the next morning and he only has the slightest scar there now.

DD bust her lip and also her gum was bleeding heavily and her tooth was wobbly and moved so I took her to A&E but they did nothing. It was a terrible mess - she could barely talk, she was dribbling etc but then one day of TLC later (spoon feeding her mashed banana etc) and she was fine.

Quick tip, to stop bleeding in the mouth give a spoonful of sugar, something to do with the enzymes. And it stops them crying
