Tell me your self care routines

For those of you who consider yourselves to have a good balanced routine, encompassing self care, please could you call tell me what your routines look like day to day?

I’m feeling shocking lately. Eating rubbish, gaining weight, tired, going to bed late, not motivated and wasting the day so want to start to put together a routine to include self care.
FYI I work at home 3 days a week 9-5 and in the office 2 days a week with a 30 minute commute. I have 1 14 year old who doesn’t date up to much of my time any more sadly.
Currently I will be including:

-10000 steps daily
-getting up on time to either walk, exercise or do a few bits around the house we we are getting ready.
-properly look after my skin.
-I’m going to give mindfulness and meditation podcasts a go

also anyone have any tips on podcasts that are productive and not just for the comedy factor?

The Calm app is great for meditation and mindfulness, especially if you’re new to it. I also love the sleep stories. Take a free trial and see what you think. I bought lifetime membership in a sale a few years ago and love that it’s there if and when I need it.

Getting enough sleep and keeping hydrated is also very important to your general well-being, in fact it is fundamental, so maybe work in a new sleep routine, as well as drinking more.

10000 steps every day is sometimes a big ask , especially in terms of time, so maybe start low and then build up? Also, commit to doing it 4/5 days a week rather than 7. By all
means do 7 if you can but this way you’re not setting yourself up to fail when you inevitably have a day where you just didn’t reach 10k.

Thankyou. Yea water and sleep is a must and I’m not good with either

yep I agree 10k may not be achievable every day. I walked 30 mins this morning and that would only 4k. I suppose even just getting out for 30 mins is better than nothing.
I actually feel much better today just by knowing I’m putting more effort in to exercise/ look after myself and be productive.
