LASIK recovery

Would love to hear from people who have had LASIK (laser eye surgery), how long does it take for lights in the evening to stop looking hazy? Bit worried about driving this winter with all the glare from car headlights.

I had it done two weeks ago, had a bit of a shocker and ended up getting inflammation called DLK and having to have more surgery to irrigate my eyes. That was a week ago and they are on the mend, but it's still pretty hazy and working on the screen is really uncomfortable. Would love to know how quickly everyone else fully recovered!

I found it improved for about a month

It was about 25 years ago, but my memory is that it was about a day to see properly. Had to keep using drops for a week and no swimming or contact sports for 3 months, and that was about it. Now in my 50s and just starting to need reading glasses.

But the risk was why I had each eye done separately.

And after that were headlights etc completely clear? Have read a few forums where people say the glare stayed bad forever Wink

It can stay bad for some. It doesn't for everyone. That's the thing - hearing about what has happened with others only tls you what could happen. It doesn't tell you anything about what will happen for you.

They weren't perfect but I could drive at night for a few years. I couldn't now due to night-blindness but impossible to say whether this is age related or a side-effect of Lasik (it's been 15 years). I wouldn't assume yours won't improve for at least a month.

The haze will be much worse due to the DLK.

I assume you're using steroid drops? After you've finished tapering those, it should get a lot better. (Although you probably will have a little bit of glare for a while).
