Hi
Does anyone think that it's actually worth taking a trip to my (impatient) doctor to discuss my rather long baby?
She is 6 months old and is off the height chart in her red book. Well she's off by a few cm.
Weight is fine. Dad is tall. But is going beyond the 100th percentile seen as a cause for concern or would I just be wasting my time?
Sorry, this does seem a silly question..

Well, they can't stop her growing...and its not like her weight is off the scale. I think you've just given birth to a lanky one, thats all!

My DD is off the boys chart - always has been - her dad is over 6 foot and the shortest in his family. She's tall! was over three foot at two years etc - eats like a horse and she's only three.

So I'm booking her into a modeling agency and hoping for the best

Enjoy your lovely tall girl, and change your GP to a actual human - there's no excuse for crap service!!

Although it is most likely that your dd's tallness is due to her genetics, there is always the possibility that she has an underlying endocrine problem. Perhaps speak to your HV first- they can always refer onto paediatricians if they think there is cause for concern.

thankyou emma, I think that's what I was wondering about - a friend suggested that it may be worth investigating...
