Fungal Nail Treatment

Have been to a Podiatrist this week to get a nail checked and as suspected it’s fungal. It’s impacting one strip of my nail on the left side and up to the “cuticle” - I would say a max of 25% of one big toenail is impacted. She said as it’s up to the cuticle it maybe deeper and that would need tablets from the GP and no other treatment would help.

My GP won’t prescribe said tablets after I spoke to them and they saw it as they think a Podiatrist should sort it via other options as the tablets are a “sledgehammer to crack a nut” in their view.

Any suggestions - have been using Curanail
and tea tree and all sorts for 6+ months. It’s not got any better but not got worse!

I’ve been using Nailner since April, and it is gradually working, but it takes ages to grow new, healthy nail. I would cut down on sugar too. Fungus thrives on sugar.

I have found rosemary oil clears it up. Also helps with nail growth.

Sudocrem got rid of mine, I put it on top on night and morning for months and it eventually grew out.

thank you all! I have sudocream, will trim back the sugar and also get some rosemary oil! It’s all worth a try! I can’t see how tablets are the only answer!

Excilor has good reviews.
