What's this in my mouth? Blood blister?

This just suddenly appeared after eating crackers. Is it a blood blister and what do I do about it if it is? I tried to pop it but it just got bigger! Should I go to the dentist?
Phone playing up and didn't add photo. Will add below.

I had one once - lasted around 1 hour then burst itself. Weird but harmless

EBearhug · 12/09/2025 12:21

Have you bitten your inner cheek at all?

Lennonjingles · 12/09/2025 12:23

I’ve had a few of these, usually after biting my cheek, only last a day or two.

GentleSheep · 12/09/2025 12:30

Yes I've had those a few times, it'll go away probably quite quickly. Harmless.

RealLifeClanger · 12/09/2025 13:10

Thank you all, it's very weird! I think I must have caught my cheek or something but didn't notice at the time. The thing just suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

My mum got these a lot and had to be careful what she ate, though yours looks like a one off. DH occasionally gets mouth ulcers from sharp food.

I get them all the time, I love them! Yes a blood blister. Pop with a pin. fGS don’t go to the dentist

gellielli · 12/09/2025 13:48

Anyone who gets these all the time should consider they might be B12/C deficient. That's what caused it for me! Was also tested for diabetes. I got them regularly though and they were painful.

MinnieCauldwell · 12/09/2025 13:58

I get loads, I think I bite my cheeks at night.

Are you on any medications? Do you have any medical history ? Do you get these regularly ?

Do not pop with anything and if you are worried , if it doesn’t heal within two weeks , if you are on eg anti coagulant medicines or have symptoms elsewhere then go to see the dentist .

RealLifeClanger · 12/09/2025 18:39

@MinnieCauldwell ah I bite my cheeks at night too. Even though I have a mouth guard I still manage to do it 🤦🏻‍♀️

It has already popped and now the area just feels a bit sensitive. It wasn't painful at all. Interestingly I found out recently that I am low on B12 and have only just started supplementing properly. Maybe something to do with that.
