Major projectile vomit incident due to over-exuberence at b'day party-can she go to nursery tomorrow?

Basically all in the title. Dd has shown no signs of illness all weekend and has been totally overloaded on treats at a party this pm. Am I ok to take her in tomorrow? How do I clean the mattress? Help!!

If she will eat plain toast for breakfast than take her in and run like the wind.

Cleaning the mattress - errr - it's a tough task. I recommend putting it out in the sun next time you get any though.

i'd take her if there's no signs of illness, obviously just had too much cake. Clean mattress, sprinkle over bicarb of soda, leave for a bit, hoover off.

BlueDragonfly · 01/06/2008 23:02

see how she goes overnight and with a slightly earlier than normal breakfast. as for mattress erm....get the worst off, quickly wash the excess and flip it to be dealt with in the morning maybe?

Reallyquiteworried · 01/06/2008 23:03

He he he, I'm always really careful and keep her off if she's ill the night before, as I would be so if I got called into nursery for a poo attack or something, but it's her last week next week so don't want to keep her off if I can help it. We don't have a garden but have attacked it with Lavender flash! Prob not the best idea but it smells a little better now!

remember if she tells nursery they will phone & ask you to collect

Projectile vomiting does not generally result from overeating.

You do not know it was caused by overeating. It could be food poisoning.

If the rules state no show for 24/48hr after vomiting those are the rules.

Reallyquiteworried · 01/06/2008 23:07

She wasn't awake enough to remember it-she rolled over and went back to sleep so have plopped her in my bed and stuck the evidence in the washer. Oh god I feel like a baddy now for wanting to take her in, but it really was just way too much sugar as we don't go in for too many treats at home, and then three hours on a bouncy castle and then a trampoline.

I'll see how she is in the morning, as she's not due to be in until ten anyway. She's got no fever or anything and hasn't eaten meat for a few days, so doubt it is food poisening, but will see how she does overnight.

You shouldn't take her in to nursery for 48 hours after vomiting whatever the reason, it's not fair on the other children or staff if it turns out to be contagious.
