So i have given birth 3 months ago,

i had my ear sunctioned because was blocked with wax in July. Now they feel blocked, my tinnutis keeps getting waves of rumbling. Everytime i drink they crakle and pop. Drs are saying eustacian tube dysfunction? I started vaping again from july could this be causing it? Will it go? I feel so stressed by this.

thank you :)

I have this and sympathise. The crackling and tinnitus I can deal with (try googling self-help ideas) but what I find difficult is the pressure sensation and the sound of my own voice, it's unnatural and makes it hard to speak at the right volume. GP gave 2 months steroid spray and 3 months antihistamines - both finished now and it's helped as it's no longer every day, but it's not gone. Apparently in some cases grommets can be inserted.

The vaping will be causing it - along with damaging your lungs and heart so would suggest cutting it out or taking up smoking cigarettes which is ironically safer and better for you

@Nearly50omg thank you for your message. I have stopped, this has made me realise and worry. I hope it fades, i wish i never started it again x

I've had this on and off since I had my tonsils out about 15 years ago but it's been almost constant for the last year or so.
GP though it could be Ménière's disease but I don't have the vertigo sensation. He prescribed cinnarizine which is standard for Ménière's and is an old fashioned antihistamine and has help to a degree.
I have an ENT appointment next week so will report back if I get anything useful from it.

I've had a couple of very short lived episodes of dizzines, occasional mild tinnitus and sometimes can hear my pulse so it is all a bit vague really.

Already been to audiology and no sign of hearing loss but the popped ears sensation and struggling to figure out how loud I'm speaking is driving me mad!

Starrrz · 31/08/2025 20:25

@endoflevelbaddy thats good no hearing loss! Ive had a hearing test and no hearing loss also! Ive beeb talking super loud today people just look at me x

I've only recently finished all the meds so not been back to the GP yet, but he did say ent referral would be the next step if it hadn't resolved. It seems worse on in-office days and I'd wondered about the air conditioning not helping, but it might just be because I'm talking more so am more conscious of it

Starrrz · 31/08/2025 21:49

@Crashtherocks i really hope it completely clears for you. I read online it can take some time. Just very frustrating isnt it? The fullness and pain annoys me the most! Just wanna not have to keep trying to pop my ears. X
