northern line straight to waterloo
or victoria then northern line (can be a bit quicker)

it is a bit of a walk from the tube to the hosp and the evelina bit is at the far end

Northern line is pretty quick these days, should only be 10 or 15 minutes.

The Evelina is great btw, wonderful staff and stuff for children to do. Ours tend not to want to leave whatever they have been there for.

If you go to Westminster tube station, it's just over the bridge and St Thomas's is on your right. Five minute walk, if that. Are you on your own or with children? I've done it with the boys and chose to take the circle line from King's Cross to Embankment. Probably not the quickest but it avoids changing tubes and was easier with the kids. Not sure where the Evelina bit is at St Thomas's - we've only done A&E! You can also take the Piccadilly Line and change to the Northern Line at Leicester Square. You come in from Welwyn, don't you? In which case it's quicker to get the tube from Finsbury Park instead of going in to King's Cross - much shorter walk down to the tube platform.

it is probably 15 mins walk (incl in the hospital} so not far for grown ups!

Vic or Northern line will be the quickest

MummyDoIt · 31/05/2008 09:55

If you decide to go for the Victoria Line, you can get that from Finsbury Park as well.

TheBlonde · 31/05/2008 09:56

Finsbury Park is more pleasant if you can change there instead of KX

thank you mummydoit, yes am ghoing from wgc station. its going to be a long afternoon there, and just discussing with dh the best way of getting there and who to take with me, as the time of the appointment means i'd be travelling back during rush hour, so he has suggested i stop in london in a bit and have dinner there. whoooo hooo. he is going to stay here and look after the girls, so they arent too unsettled.

Don't change at Finsbury Park on the way home, though. You might not get a seat, especially if it's rush hour. Dinner in London sounds lovely. Have fun!
