Inaccurate Notes Written After Dental Hygienist Appointment

I have been seeing the hygienist at my dental practice for about a year now, usually every three months, at my last appointment in June she said my gums were much improved and I could see her again in six months and we would see if the remaining area of concern had stayed stable.

I saw the dentist this morning for a check up, he still had concerns about some areas and showed me the hygienist’s notes which said I had requested to go six months, she had advised against it and warned me it was at my own risk. I said to the dentist that was not my recollection of the conversation and I would have rebooked for three months if that had been recommended.

I have rebooked the appointment for October, but am I am being unreasonable to feel that the hygienist shouldn’t have rewritten our conversation to cover her back and make me appear to be ignoring her advice.

It might seem like a small thing, but I actually really don’t like going to the dentist and it takes a lot for me to build trust, I feel unsure whether to change to another practice.

It’s not a small thing. It’s malpractice and illegal to falsify medical records
