Hi

Just wondering if anyone else has similar. After I ovulate I get the worst burning pelvic muscles until my period. Lower back pain, painful hips burning pain in pelvis. I'm on cerazette but my body still ovulated. Everything feels better after my period. I'm 37 and just wondered whether anyone else feels like they have been run over by a bus in this time?

You can try ibuprofen and/or paracetamol. Try using the ibuprofen 3/4 days before you start ovulating and it will help more. If not go to your GP you can try some NSAIDs (naproxen or mefenamic acid or some others).

If your pain is severe it might be an underlying condition. It could be fibroids or ovarian cysts. I recommend going to your GP ask for a pelvicultrasound, a transabdominal ultrasound anda transvaginal one to see what they find. Maybe try and see if you can get one around the time you'll be ovulating (but this mat be difficult).

Are you symptoms just when you ovulate or elsewhere during the month? Also what symptoms do you have? And if you have symptoms not on your period - what are they? Is the pain worse on or off period?

Thank you. I'm allergic to ibuprofen but I can take paracetamol. I have had so many scans and every time they see dominant follicles but it's the achniness and soreness after. My periods either come or don't because of the cerazette i think. But they are not too bad. It's just the cycle pain in between. It feels like all muscles really ache x

Yes those follicles are normal though, everyone releases a follicle during ovulation and it wouldn't be counted as an ovarian cyst which is not normal e.g endometrimoa or a dermoid cyst. Maybe then a scan not during ovulation - have you have pelvic, transvaginal and an abdominal ultrasound or just the first 2? I'd try the paracetamol and perhaps NSAIDs during that time, if your period is fine then you could just take them that week.
