Got bitten on Monday, started as a raised red bite and now looks like this. I’ve had bites turn into blisters before but this seems more filled out than usual. Any advice?

Blandford fly bite. Keep an eye on the redness, they tend to get infected.

Assuming your in the UK, you can go to a pharmacy and get it checked out - they can prescribe antibiotics if needed

Take an antihistamines once a day. Grab some 1% hydrocortisone cream to put around the bite (but not on it) when it bursts keep clean and dry. If you must cover with a fabric plaster or dressing , not a waterproof one.
I’ve just come home from suffering lots of these abroad. I also managed to grab an antihistamine cream. Hope it gets better soon

I get this sometimes from mozzies. I take an antihistamine and put lots of antiseptic cream on. Never had to take an antibiotic for a bite.

This happens to me quite often when I get bitten. I’ve only ever needed antibiotics once… and that’s when the red “ring” around the bite was getting bigger & bigger. Just try to keep it clean & not burst. If it does burst, again keep it clean, pop some antiseptic on / cover with a plaster to keep germs out. Antihistamine tablet can help with the itching. Mine usually go down in a few days (or they burst & then go down).

I've had this kind of reaction 3 times now to horsefly bites. I'd get it checked by the pharmacy, and try really hard not to scratch it. The first time it happened I didn't look after it properly and have a delightful scar on my leg. If you have done, cover loosely with a gauze until you can be checked out by a pharmacist.

I had a couple of these on holiday recently. Used some antiseptic and a clean needle to pierce them. That immediately relieved a lot of the discomfort. I covered it with a dressing which I changed daily.
