Wisdom tooth extraction

Looking for some advice as I’ve never had a wisdom tooth removed before. Recently lost a filling in upper wisdom tooth. Dentist advised extraction as tooth is broken and there’s very little left of it. At the time dentist advised general anaesthetic at hospital but now have been sent an appointment for just sedation at a private dentist. I’m a bit worried as have heard horror stories about wisdom tooth extraction and there’s not much of it left for them to hold on to. Any advice? Should I go back and request the hospital treatment? It’s not causing me any pain so I can live with it for a while longer. Thanks.

My lower wisdom teeth were removed under local anaesthetic at the dentist, though not at the same time. Both were impacted, and I suffered from abscesses as a result. After the abscesses had healed, I was advised to have the offending teeth extracted, on x ray one tooth was pretty much lying sideways, and so they cut the gum to extract that tooth, and stitched it after. Oddly enough, that one was less sore than the straight extraction the other side, and healed faster too.

I've had three with local anaesthetic. Two lower ones when my youngest was a week old (following me having recurrent gum infections due to impaction), so painkiller options were limited due to breastfeeding and I refused to take AB's, so I lived on water for 4 days until healing was underway to avoid infections (I theorised that adding food would encourage bacteria, no idea if this is correct or not). I had gum stitches on both sides.

I had an upper one removed by an emergency dentist some years later, when I had a large painful cavity in the tooth. No stitches this time, just a huge gum hole which healed quickly. I again lived on water for several days, to avoid ABs.

None of them were particularly traumatic apart from the unpleasant tugging sensations, which I'd been warned about and they all healed quickly with minimal pain.

ETA. I should add that the swelling was spectacular, particularly when two were removed at once, so I possibly couldn't have eaten much anyway.
