She is 2 ,we spent last night at the childrens hospital ,she was ok until she was examined then freaked which was making her then have false readings of temp and heart rate her sats were 95 but the dr said it was very unlikely they were really 95 as she was running round like a loon playing.
They gave me blue inhaler and told me to take her to gp's in am .
So after a bad nights sleep (me and dp she slept fine) I took her to see dr who mentioned bronchoilitis and wnts to see her again in morning .
She has just eaten 2 boied eggs and is deinking she is also sat drawing right now but I am scared we lost our dd 10 years ago to complications from bronchoilitis and although I know I am been silly because she was very tiny and prem and dd now is a big strong girl I am just dreading every time she coughs and am scared about tonight when I know she will get worse.
I just need someone to reasure me silly as it sounds .
Sorry for typos if there are any I am tired .

I am very sorry about the loss of your older dd Of course you will be scared.

No experience of bronchiolitis, but I have had a 3 week old in hospital with neonatal infection causing tachypnoea and he came through it very well.

You have an inhaler, she is being treated and you are keeping a close eye on her. I won't say 'try to relax' as that would be silly, but please try to be reassured she is getting good care from you and GP.

Thinking of you.

sorry you are feeling so run down and worried btt

she is at a good age to fight off things like this

if she is eating and drinking and drawing its a good sign that she is on the mend otherwise she would be laid up not wanting anything

mu ds has had this few times he is 3 just getting over another bout of croup its only natural for a parent to worry and you have more reason to than others

but try not to worry yourself too much she sounds like she is doing much better

it always get worse of a night my ds breathing has been terrible make sure you ventilate the room so air doesnt dry out too much if having radiator on place bowl of water on top

keep head propped up to keep air ways open but the coughing is bodies natural way of clearing all the rubbish from body my ds didnt sleep a wink last night due to continuously choking

hope she feels better soon x

you poor thing sounds like you had a rough night.
No personal experience of bronchiolitis here but as my eldest suffers from asthma, I do know how terrifying it can be listening to them breathe, almost breathing with and for them while they sleep. My sympathy.
I think your worry is very understandable and it does not sound silly at all, especially after your tragic loss of your prem baby 10 years ago. However, I think you know too that she sounds happy, eating and drinking well, playing well, is a big strong girl etc and that this situation sounds very different. The hospital was happy for you to go home and your GP sounds very professional monitoring it carefully by asking to check in the morning again. Try to take it easy today as you had such lousy sleep last night.
I won?t tell you not to worry - you are a mum! But, try not to let those worries escalate into whatifs and scenario thinking. Each step at a time.
She is home, she is a bit poorly but is strong and being looked after. Hugs!

Thankyou ,I know in my heart she is ok and can fight it.

It is just silly thoughts like last night I couldn't wait to get out of hospital becaue thats where my elder dd died and then when I got home I wanted to be back in hospital .

The gp is been brilliant I think I fell lucky seeing him this morning because he knows our history so is probably seeing her tomorrow more to reassure me aswell .

Thankyou for all your kind words.

All of my three have had bronchilitus - its terrfying and must be more so with what has happened to you. Only two were in hospital though. DD2 was older when she had it and could cope. She will be fine. She wouldn't be running around if she was that ill. She just wouldn't have the breath to do that. She is eating fine.

It is a horrible thing for kids to get, but it really does make a difference with their ages. And you are doing everything you can, and the dr is doing all he can.

Sorry to hear about your other baby girl. Both DCs have had it (at 18 months ish) and come out unscathed.

my dd's had it too when she was 7 or 8 mths and came through it ok. It is v scary though even without having lost a child to it. Sorry to hear about dd1. I am sure DD2 will be fine though - she certainly seems happy enough.
Glad you have a good supportive gp -really helps
