Odd shaped poo

I'm sorry, its TMI, but I've googled this repeatedly and I can't quite see what I'm looking for.

The Bristol Stool chart doesn't have anything like it.

I mostly have fairly normal shaped poo. Some constipation/hard to pass poo but pretty regular. But occasionally I have one that is oddly shaped.

Every so often it will be bent, or much bigger on one end (kind of hammer shaped). Today was a U shape. I dont mean a bit bent, I mean a proper U.
It's not thin, which is the only description I can find via Google. It's normal width but just odd shaped.

I've had horrendous stomache ache for 2 days, which i had thought was period/gyne pain or some sort. But usually with period pain it eases with exercise and this doesn't. The only thing that helps ease it is after I've sat still for a while.

This is longer than I'd hoped, so I'll leave it there.

Hopefully someone can come along and tell me its totally normal.

Do you have health anxiety? If not, ask your Gp. I never really look so couldn’t advise.

No, i don't, not generally. I'm much more likely to bury my head in the sand until I have to do something.

I should see the GP. I just dont really want to go in and talk about my poo shape, for them to tell me its totally normal and feel like a fool 😆

Curly or u shaped are pretty normal for a long poo lol. Sometimes weird shapes if you have piles snd the poo has to squish it’s way past.

but you shouldn’t be having any difficulty ever if you’re eating properly and drinking enough water. So either sort that out or if you’re already eating snd drinking we’ll see a gp.

You should at least glance to keep an eye out for any changes.

Thank you!
I will try to see a GP anyway, from what you've said I think piles may be the issue. I haven't been able to sort them so far with over the counter treatments.

Persistent oddly shaped poos can sometimes be a sign of colorectal cancer because cancers can partially obstruct the rectum and change the shape of a poo. HOWEVER - you will note the word persistent. Intermittent oddly shaped poos (usually very thin/elongated poos) without other symptoms such as weight loss, other bowel change, rectal bleeding etc. are much less concerning. The overall curve of the poo isn't something I would consider a concern.

Please get checked out for any abdominal pain though if you're worried. 111 is available over the weekend if you're suffering. A GP can exclude serious causes of abdominal pain e.g. appendicitis /ectopic pregnancy/UTI etc.
