I've seen this type of rash countless times on all the boys over the yrs, so i pretty much positive they'll tell me just to carry on wil what I'm doing. Calpol, fluids, loose fitting clothes etc

He''s got/had tonsillitus and been really grotty for the last few days and teh rash has appeared over night.....which is how its appeared every other time one of them have had it.

Theres nothing the GP can do anyway but shoudl I take him anyway??

(it passed teh glass test BTW)

I think that yes if I was worried I would. Or I'd phone and ask to speak to the GP to see if they thought he needed seeing. Hard for me to say maybe though as I have to be quite careful with DD but I think GPs are generally quite happy to see small children if the parents are concerned.

NotABanana · 26/05/2008 09:31

Maybe ring for reassurance if you didn't want to go out/thought it was better to keep him in.

My son was the rashiest child going and his brother is the same so we tend to wait it out a bit now.

foxinsocks · 26/05/2008 09:32

nah, not if you're not worried

unless you think it's a reaction to antibiotics or is something like scarlet fever (which can follow a sore throat)

AitchTwoCiao · 26/05/2008 09:32

nope.

cluelessnchaos · 26/05/2008 09:32

If you are worried yes, if it was me no.

ladytophamhatt · 26/05/2008 09:35

hes been on teh anti-bs since thursday so its not a reaction to them.

Ds3 had scarlett fever when I was PG with ds4 and its deffo not that.....

he's off his food, but drinking ok.

he's actaully demolishing the livingroom playing now so I think hes ok-ish

i'm not worroed about it, have seen it soooomany times before. My children always seem to get it rashes on teh tailend of any illness when they are little.

Hopefully it'll mean they'll all have teh immune system of an Ox when they are big

DD had an awful rash last time she was ill, post viral one. My Dad said it looked exactly like measles and we ended up being seen at the hospital by one of the team that cares for her but it was nothing to worry about and went within a couple of days. Glad he's still lively enough!

itwasntme · 26/05/2008 09:41

No. DD is prone to rashes, and viral ones are fairly easy to recognise.

BigBadMouse · 26/05/2008 09:47

If I was very worried about the rash or he was quite ill with a high fever and not responding to meds etc then yes, otherwise I would stay at home and save myself the journey. Sounds like you have it all under control!
