If it's weeping the it's probably an ear infection and the drum may have burst. Was there some relief from the pain after it started to weep?

mybrainaches · 26/05/2008 09:18

Yes there was some relief, it is still weeping, has been since last night, and I cant hear properly.

go and direct this question at a DOCTOR, you loon. you really don't want to have a big infection right next to your brain, it's SORE.

thats a lovely way of putting it.

But its the bank holiday, I feel lousy, have 3 children, and dont want to sit in a waiting room for 3 blardy hours.

as someone who has been admitted to hosp with ear infs and put on morphine drip for pain, i wouldn't risk it getting worse. can't you phone the docs yelling 'ow ow ow' and crying, so that they see you first? docs don't like people weeping in the waiting room, it's a buzzkill.

TotalChaos · 26/05/2008 09:22

dunno, but it's really not normal. what you describe definitely sounds like you need medical advice, sorry!

it is quite normal with an ear infection, the drum often pops with the pressure, but you should definitly go and see a gp.

I left one once as it was the weekend and by the time I saw the doctor I was doubled over with pain, vomiting from the Solpadeine and he said my eardrum was the size of a golf ball.

My GP won't treat ear infections until day 5.

I would get checked though just in case
