Food intolerance tests

can anyone recommend a worthwhile food intolerance test ? I am not allergic to anything but my digestion is up and down and I have tried by elimination to work out what it is and o can’t pin point.
I think dairy affects me if I over do it but I think that maybe soya / tofu / aubergine/ chickpeas and maybe even tomatoes are causing noticeable bloating and maybe some seeds. I a pescatarian and cook from scratch but think maybe some health foods - seeds flax chia etc might be causing this and I’m stuck ! I also notice a definate sluggish feeling after eating lunch and hold off as late as I can so if I could find out what the cause might be I could try eliminating ! Obv these tests tend to be a couple of hundred so don’t want to waste my money. Any recommendations ? .

Any chance of a consult with a dietician? Sorting out food intolerances can be very tricky. Have you tried doing the classic elimination diet of rice, pears and chicken and then slowly re-introducing suspect foods?

Have a look at FODMAP, that can be useful.

My son has massive food intolerances and we've never done the dodgy testing. It's not reliable enough to be worth the money.

Food intolerance testing isn't accurate, you'd be better off following an elimination diet lead by a dietician

It's a load of bollocks. Read up on ige Vs non-ige allergies. The latter are what people used to call intolerances. The only test for them is exclusion trials.

If you’re on TT here’s a simple explanation as to why they are useless.

For gut issues I recommend daily kefir, the unsweetened/unflavoured version. It takes 3 months of daily drinking to improve good gut bacteria. (Studies were done on stool samples on participants before and after daily drinking) and it makes a huge difference, as does avoiding sugar and feeding your gut with a rainbow of fruit & veg.

But don't assume that because it is a fruit or vegetable, you can tolerate it.

Skip intolerance tests, they’re unreliable.
Do an elimination diet, remove and reintroduce foods.
