Why does my back/shoulder hurt so badly every morning???

Right mumsnetters I am at the end of my tether!

For the last 5 days I have woken up with a sore back and frozen shoulder - I am at a loss to figure out what I have done differently to cause this - the mattress is only 11 months old and I haven't had this since we got it, I haven't done and gardening or stretching that I would not normally do and am in agony!!!

This morning it took me 10 minutes to be able to sit up and get out of bed - am I just turning into an old woman at 33 or should I go and see GP about it Tuesday?? Or should I worry that it is something sinister and go and visit A&E - have taken co-codamol and ibuprofen and still hurts!!

God if this is getting old I have had enough already!

please change this thread title
I can't be the only one who read it as "why does my backside hurt so badly every morning????"

cos there's really only one answer to that, twinkie

Noooooo it really is my back/shoulder - DH and I haven't been indulging (well that wouldn't be what I would call it - more like torture!) in anything a bit out of the ordinary!

Just had a nice hot bath and it still isn't any better!!

Lugging small child around?

sitting skewiff at the computer?

Have you been sleeping in a draught? We've been leaving the windows open all night since the weather improved (except last night when it poured down) and I've been throwing the duvet off more.

It's possible that you've pulled something without really noticing at the time. If it doesn't improve by Tuesday, then yes, go see your GP and ask to be referred to physio. Or see a private physio and speed things up.

Thanks guys, I may have pulld something earlier in the week and then last night was trying to beat DH at Wii Baeball so it may just seem worse today because of that!

I am sure it isn't because I have slept in a draught - am used to that after living here 11 onths - not one room is draught free! And I haven't been able to pick DS up properly since my op so it may be that I have felt better and have been picking him up here and there and am just not used to it!

Will leave it until Tuesday and go and see my completely unsympathetic doctor who will just give me more painkillers - their answer to everything I am afraid!
