Is it likely my 2 year old and 5 year old have both hit a growth spurt or have they just got worms?

They are both eating prodigiously

be glad and happy...mine do this and I rejoice

mine are sparrow eaters normally, so when they hit an 'eater' phase, I feed them lots to tide them over

my kids are constantly wanting to eat, but a few times it was noticeable worse and it did turn out they had worms. Not sure if that is true or a myth though ?

Elibean · 23/05/2008 21:07

dd didn't eat more when she had worms, or less, no difference whatsoever

Maybe the longer, lighter days have them all running around more??

Or maybe yo'ure cooking extra well atm?

I am ramming cheese and bread and potato and meat into their happily upturned gullets, I am especially pleased about ds2, who is a squirt.

But Ds1 has taken to asking for ham sandwiches after finishing his evening meal. And he's eaten a fair amount today!

dd1 has chicken pox and has been asking for mustard sandwiches (don't ask) after supper. And a banana before bed.

I think the theory on worms is that they want more sweet stuff, not ham sandwiches...but I could be wrong!

maidamess · 23/05/2008 21:12

I had heard it was sweet stuff people wanted when they had worms. Having had them three times myself never had them , I wouldn't know for sure.

SmugColditz · 23/05/2008 21:40

well, they do ask for sweet stuff, but that is a given really, considering their ages and my rationing.

Mybe it's because I've cut some of the sweet stuff that they are wanting more food?

maybe cos the weather is better they are outside more and using more energy???

my boys would eat constantly given the chance at the moment

SlartyBartFast · 23/05/2008 21:51

i really don't think worms have any affect on your digestion at all.
perhaps it's the sunshine?

sagacious · 23/05/2008 21:53

Mine are 4 and 6 and have gone from eating nothing to constantly eating

Still skinny as rakes

I blame the trampoline

Perhaps I should go on it
