I had a sudden turn a few weeks ago which meant I ended up being admitted into hospital for 3 nights. It wasn’t long but it was genuinely a scary time, not the actual stay once everything had calmed down, as everyone was so caring, but the condition itself. I’m early 30’s and it’s really thrown me, I didn’t have anyone close by to help and the nurses and auxiliaries in particular couldn’t have looked after me better. I have a follow up with the surgeon consultant this week and wanted to show my appreciation to those in the ward. I am still very emotional and teary about it all weeks later and keep thinking about how well I was cared for. Is it normal / OK to drop by the ward I stayed in with a card? If there are any medical people reading, is there anything good to take along? Coffee vouchers or such like?
