Need a neuro ophthalmologist.

Ongoing flashing lights in right eye for over a year. Yp to 20+ times a day. Have worsened considerably. Opthalmology confirmed no cause detected for these in the actual eye and believe it to be neurological. I'm already under neurology for chronic migraine but they have carried out a brain scan, yet to get results, and want me to see a neuro ophthalmologist as issues could be coming from brain. Told the waiting list is 12+ months, people with brain tumours are having to wait on this list.
Was told if I can afford it, go privately. I'm so worried as my father has MS. Does anyone know a good consultant or clinic they would recommend? Any ideas on what is going on here? Thanks

Have you been told it is/might be persistent migrainous aura without infarction? I've had permanent " flashing lights" over the outer third of my right eye for about 4 years now, very sudden onset. When it started I panicked and saw a (very eminent) opthalmologist who'd treated me for cataracts privately and he said even a scan probably wouldn't locate a cause unless due to eg a stroke but he was confident of the diagnosis (he said he gets sent the "weird stuff" so although rare-very rare- he'd seen it before)

I could take it further but as I'm still here (and OK) I haven't. It hasn't got worse and TBH you do get used to it. I truly understand your fear @Joco34 and you are doing the right thing with further neurological tests especially with your family history, but just sending you some hope.

ETA I had a history of migraines as a child but not in adult life. The consultant I saw said it could be connected to this, though
