Hi all
lately I’ve noticed I’ve been forgetting names of people, certain websites or shops I usually know and use, and it’s getting worse. I’m 36, two kids under 4, I haven’t slept properly in years as two small kids I’ve only just now after 4 years started to sleep in one striaght stretch again ( was waking up 2-3 times a night 3-4 hour stretches) could this be why? Or something more clinical?
the worst one was I forgot my sons name when someone asked me once at a party ( he’s one!)
I wa so embarrassed I pretended I didn’t hear her ask until I remembered but that really worried me

It's probably nothing serious, but best to get it checked. Wondering about early perimenopause...

I was thinking perimenopause too...or underactive thyroid.

I'm post menopausal (I assume by my age 58....I had to correct that!!!). My menopausal symptoms are a bit confused as I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago so no periods as a result. My memory for words, names etc is getting poor. I'm on thyroxine for an underactive thyroid but my levels are tested annually and are supposedly OK. My gran had Alzheimers and the thought of that terrifies me!!!

I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old, and I’m similar. I think it’s the sleep deprivation, constant juggling work and kids and commute and no time

You’ve got a lot on, that’s all.
I left my handbag on a shopping trolley at the supermarket while shopping with my small children. I was tired and overwhelmed but at the time I thought I had some degenerative neurological condition to the extent I was considering what to do, if I could live with it.
The kids grew up, I hardly do stuff like this anymore and I was diagnosed with ADHD when I hit 50.
If a health check would reassure you, go for it.
