Can being overweight cause bladder pressure

This is something that I have had for quite a long time. It’s mainly when I am lying down or sitting that I feel like there is a brick lying on top of my pelvis/lower stomach and the pressure makes me feel like I need to pee at times. I don’t suffer from vaginal pain or pain when I pee so it’s not a UTI plus I have had urine tests.

i was wondering if being overweight and especially around the stomach area could be the cause of this.

I had had similar in my case it was a small fibroid (size 3cm which wouldn’t get me taken seriously or seen by gynaecologist as had to be over 5cm) as I started trying to lose weight. It ruled my life since 28th December 22 and has recently gone I feel.

Had a catheter removed start of week and first few times peeing naturally pip seeds came out. Now I have to stick on the tap to facilitate getting flow going whereas for many sustained months I have needed to live in period knickers.

Just the nasty feelings down below have gone pelvic pressure, dribbling, urge to go, either that or the body has a unique way of shifting nerve damage which is the worst of the worst thing.

Please do see someone x

Did you have a catheter because of getting the fibroid removed.

Yes, when I lost a lot of weight I needed to go to wee less frequently and when I did go less urgently, drinking the same amounts of liquid. I also needed to pee less frequently at night.

Yes, being oversight does cause bladder pressure. I’m a nurse but also get this. I have an overactive bladder which is very annoying but never caused any leaks. But I put on a lot of weight in the past two years which has caused issues, such as pain and needing the loo like 15 times at night. You have more visceral fat when you are overweight, so all your organs are even more squashed and are pushed together in lay man terms. I would go the doctors if you can, but loosing weight has helped me with the pain
