Positive Polyp stories please

Had a scan today and there’s two (what the radiographer thinks are) polyps
but she said she obviously can’t diagnose anything or confirm what they are
apparently I’ll need a biopsy and likely removal

im peri menopausal, using HRT and had a scan for irregular bleeding

has anyone got any positive stories???

Sorry you’re going through this OP. I had irregular bleeding (constant for 16 weeks) and had a transvaginal ultrasound which showed that I had polyps (and a bad case of PCOS). I went in for a day procedure, they removed the polyps, did a biopsy, popped the coil in and I was home before teatime. All clear confirmed within 2 weeks. That was 3 years ago and the best thing I’ve ever paid for. Good luck ❤️

Thank you for replying, did you have them removed under general anaesthetic?

I had one on my cervix. Removed no issues. No anaesthetic, but it was easily reached.

Yes I was under general anaesthetic. I have a tilted womb so it was too painful when they tried without!

I had a procedure last year to look at my fibroid to understand what options I have, during this they identified a polyp and they removed it, sent off for biopsy and was also a quick procedure. I was a little achy for a few days afterwards but nothing some painkillers couldn't help

Thank you for all your experiences
I won’t be having anything done awake, I can’t even have a coil put in

I had 2 polyps - only symptoms were a bit of post menopausal bleeding. The 1cm cervical polyp was removed during the initial consult! - no sedation required. It wasn't present when I had my last smear a year ago.
Scan showed slight thickening of the womb so had a hysteroscopy in the antenatal clinic with gas and air. Advised to take cocodamol beforehand. Procedure was a little uncomfortable, but not painful. Womb polyp was tiny, biopsy was normal so they left it. It'll probably resolve.

So I picked up my referral letter yesterday and it said ‘urgent suspected cancer’ which has done nothing for my worry & anxiety

They do the “urgent” route to get you seen or in will be months. They may suspect it’s benign but better to be safe and get you seen.

ive had at least a dozen cervical polyps removed, I’m prone to lumps! I have them done without anaesthetic, so quick and not painful at all, just a quick snip.
