I drink semi, dd6 has always had full fat. She has milk on cereal only, occasionaly (one a week or so) will have a glass.

During the last week I have just bought semi, I am presumming she is not missing out?? Well only on the saturated fat bit!

she's not bothered and tbh it would be easier to just get one type in for us both.

??

I switched DS to semi-skimmed just over 2 years. No problem provided they're getting enough fat in their diet from 2yrs. Just milk on cereal doesn't sound much calcium though, does she have yoghurt/cheese everyday? Chidlren over 1 need the equivalent of 3/5 of a pint of milk a day.

Ah I think you mean DD aged 6 rather than DD^ meaning you have 6 DD's!

In which case semi-skimmed is fine.

yes ahe is 6!!

She eats yog and cheese regularly. I think i wil stick to semi then.

She gets enough fat in biscuits that type of thing. What other foods contain calcium, is it just milk based products?

milk based are easier to absorb but you can get it in other things I'll have to check but I think dark green veg and fish like sardines where you tend to eat the smaller bones...

"Dairy products, leafy green vegetables, nuts and seeds (almonds, brazils, sesame seeds), tofu, and dried fruit are all good sources of calcium for vegetarians. Most flour is fortified with calcium carbonate so cereals can also be a good source"

ah good, i was being a bit dim there!! I sort of knew calcium came from other sources.

i am vegetarian, but dd eats fish, so thats good. Dd isn't going to be missing out. I was jsut sure she'd clock the non creamy textureof the semi skimmed, as she is rather like the princess and the pea when it comes to finer detail . ( cant think where she gets that from0
