DD has had 10 chicken pox looking spots since yesterday eve, but have not got any worse. Is this normal?

may be a mild case only, or may even be that the worst is still on its way.

mind you, tis normally that you get them over a few days, not lots one day and them no more......

Do they itch from the start?

Would the doc think I was mad to get him to look at the 10 off them?

Worried about sending her to nursery. DH thinks it is a heat rash. I am not convinced!

Take her to the GP if you're not sure - i took ds when he had about 3 spots to get it confirmed, as didn't want to take him to nursery and spread it around.

Friends have told me that some gps get shirty about you taking an infectious child into the surgery but what else can you do? I rang ahead to warn them & they were fine about it. Always best to get it checked out rather than send a potentially infectious child to nursery, I think.

Yes, I think nursery would be pretty naffed off if they see them and think they are pox and I have not had them checked.

This thread has been discussing the same thing:

you'll find some good suggestions here, though the general consensus seems to be porridge oats!

Hope she's not too miserable.
