Hope it's nothing serious Misdee, I often thought I had missed 2 numbers off it in my address book aswell, till I phoned it one day, strange.

i'm fine. dd1 isnt well, got a horrible cough and is wheezing. as she is asthmatic i thought i'd call. they are gonna get the local clinic to call me back.

they have a walk in clinic at the hospital.

she is 4yrs old. she has had 4 puffs on her reliver inhalor in the last hour and it hasnt helped really. but i am trying to figure out if the wheeze is her chest or because her throat is all bunged up cos of the cough/cold. dont want to drag her down there if its just the cough/cold and not her asthma.

she is pulling in her chest when breathing, under the ribs. so she is struggling a bit. but not excessivly. she has been worse than this b4 and we have been sent away from a+e with just more dosage of inhalors.

It sounds more like chest than throat if her ribs are affected

Recessing is what happens to DS all the skin is sucked in on the ribs so the ribs show up.

she isnt that bad but am worried the inhalor isnt working. she has been worse, and has been better. but dont want to rush down there and panic. i think after 3yrs of this i am a bit calmer about it tho.

no, its a new inhalor. just dont fancy waiting round a+e for hrs.

last time she had a full on attack, they spent 2 hrs upping her dose of inhalors, then sent her home, only for us to come back later that night for her to admitted to a ward needing a nebuliser.

be OTT if u want. i do get like that, especially if its not something i've dealt with b4. i over react with dh, but with the girls i have faced allergic reactions, asthma attacks etc all b4 so i know how to deal with them.

still waiting for clinic to call.

they just called back, and said to keep her at hoem for now, double her dose of becotide, treat with ventolin when needed, make sure her temp stays down and to try and keep her calm. she has now stopped wheezing anyway.

Sounds like your dd has the same thing as mine, Misdee. Dd2 has used her inhaler more times these past three days than ever before. I'm not too concerned because she seems okay otherwise but I've a feeling there isn't much left in the inhaler and it's still 36hrs until the Dr's opens Monday morning. The surgery only gives me one at a time so I never have a reserve one handy, grrr. Anyway, hope your dd's okay.
