I found out yesterday I'm pregnant with my second baby

I have really bad ME/CFS and I'm so scared

Anyone else here that has ME/CFS who has 2 or more children?

Any advice and support would be appreciated. TIA

Sometimes pregnancy can ‘reset’ cfs.
All you can do is prep as much as possible, organise some post natal support if feasible and try not to worry too much.

My DD 26 says having to be independent from an early age and being supportive of my health difficulties has really shaped her personality in a positive way.

And congratulations!

Hi

I have ME/CFS and pregnant with my first. Also feeling terrified. Struggling with increased symptoms and pregnancy symptoms too but more so im just anxious to know how much I will be able to do for baby (and in general) when the time comes. It feels like such a gamble and I don't know anyone else who's been through this.

How are you feeling now that you've had a month to process your news?

I had CFS in past. Went on to have three pregnancies & now teenage children. I found being pregnant very hard. I was anxious all the time how things would go but I'm still amazed that my exhausted body acted like any other mums did. Congratulations. Just wanted to give some positivity from a much older mum, that understands what it felt like at the time. X

This is absolute nonsense! CFS does not get ‘reset’ by anything. I went through pregnancy (and Hyperemesis Gravidarum) with ME and I’m worse now than I ever was. ME/CFS has recently begun being classed as a neurological disorder ffs

I have 2 DC and have CFS. I did actually find a lot of my symptoms improved in pregnancy, which can happen due to hormonal changes. Also breastfeeding helped. How old is your eldest, and do you have a lot of support...as I think this makes a difference. Really it hasn't been too bad with a lot of support and a 'system' to help with pacing. We also have a cleaner which helps. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Rest up plenty. Try not to worry about the mind numbing exhaustion. Most pregnant women are chronically tired & so you will be experiencing that plus your CFS fatigue. That will lessen after birth & you will swap for short time with new mum fatigue but as baby grows you may find your CFS lessens.
I developed diabetes in pregnancy and so was another blow of exhaustion. I found counting weeks really helped me & doing something nice every week - Even if that was just eating a nice home cooked meal by dh or watching a TV show longer than I normally would.
I think a lot of women are but older with cfs as most try to get as well as they can before pregnancy. It will be a hard journey at times but one that will bring you amazing joy.
Congrats to all of you. Xxxx

Numerous midwives told me they've seen autoimmune conditions improve/disappear for the duration of pregnancy, maybe this is what poster is referring to
