I'm bleeding quite heavily and just passed this clot during my period??

I've been in a lot of pelvic pain all day and actually went to the chemist to get some co codamal earlier and now this :/
I never normally pass clots at all!

Do I need to be concerned?

Thanks

I get ones like that. That what causes bad cramping for me and it kind of blocks your cervix so you get contractions as your womb tries to clear it out. I wouldn’t worry unless the pain gets worse or you suddenly have extremely heavy bleeding. If you are concerned call NHS 24.

That looks like it could be a decidual cast, basically the whole of your uterine lining coming out in one go, I've had it happen and it is much more painful than a regular period.

Gosh poor thing. This happened to me when I was in my forties with very heavy periods. I ended up getting a Mirena coil fitted which stopped the heavy periods and was pure bliss.
How old are you?

Hi,

i would go and have a chat with the GP and maybe try if you can get one with a female GP who might be more in touch with having heavy periods. Dr should be able to advise what’s best at your age.
Heavy periods can be so unpleasant. I would literally have to wear black trousers for a few days in case I literally flooded and being a teacher I was always on my feet too.
