I jad my appendix removed 4 weeks ago bur today the scar has really been playing up its gone really red and sore. Im not sure if i need to worry or if its part of the normal healing ive never had anything like this before. Of course no gp until tuesday so i wondered if anyone could put my mind at ease or tell me to go to a walk in! This is the belly button wound i have two others which are nicely healed over.

Is it oozing / wet / smelly? That little bit at the bottom, what's going on there? It looks like there's something - a stray stitch? Belly buttons tend to fester at the best of times being warm and damp environments. What have you used to clean it with - saline?

when i got home today there was a small amount of blood at the top in my belly button - i have no idea what that is at the bottom! All the stitch i had were internal so im not sure what has appeared there!

Sometimes the stitches don't dissolve and try to work their way out. I don't think it looks too bad, but it's not my wound and only you know how your body feels and heals. Keep it clean, dry and aired if possible.

If it starts to ooze, smell, feel hot or throb, then you will need to take action. If you are worried, you could track down the duty pharmacy and ask their advice, it will be quicker than a walk in on a bank holiday.

Looks ok, bathe it with salt water and see how it is over the next day or so. If it's smelly or wet call 111 for advice.

In addition to oozing - if you feel that the area is hot, or pulsating, and/or you start feeling feverish - also call, or go to emergency.
But the pic doesn’t look too bad.
It maybe a surface only issue. Do you have any Savlon cream - can help with redness.
