What to wear after knee replacement op?

Hi, ’m having a knee replacement operation soon and am thinking I’ll need to wear something that’s loose so there’s no pressure on the wound maybe cropped trousers or longish baggy shorts Has anyone any suggestions for what I can wear and where I could buy them from?
thanks

I wear long wide leg trousers.

Most places sell them.

Just from Googling, I've seen some cropped joggers in Peacocks. I would suggest loose and stretchy, as your knee is likely to be swollen and they may be easier to put on/off while you're getting used to bending your knee. Good luck!

Thanks. @Frontroomroomjungleim not looking forward to it but it’ll be worth it 😀

I wore soft leggings under dresses as I couldn’t bear any fabric touching the scar. This went on for about 3 months when the sensitivity gradually improved.
I put Vaseline on the scar as a kind of barrier.
Good luck!

In the first few weeks, mid-calf-length dresses in soft fabric were most comfortable, with a cardigan or shawl over the top and sketchers shoes or sandals. Pulling on trousers is really hard, knickers are bad enough. Socks as well as being hard to put on made my ankles swell. The scar looks pretty awful once the dressing is off so it's good to keep it out of sight with a longish skirt. It's a difficult time but a couple of months in things start to improve and it all feels worth it.

I know this doesn’t answer your question, but can I give you some unsolicited info about the op? The first week is the worse, but it’ll start getting better after that.

I found that the first week was so painful I thought I was going to die from the pain. (I’m a bit of a drama queen!) I started with the “why did I agree to this operation, it was the worst idea I’ve ever had” etc. However, the pain subsided after the first week, I stopped the histrionics and I stopped regretting having the op.

I’m not trying to scare you, I’m trying to prepare you. If someone had warned me that after a week it would start feeling better, I think I’d have coped better. Despite the initial pain, I’m glad I had the op. It’ll soon be time for my replacement to be replaced!

Do you have any cropped wide leg trousers already? Wear those
Agree first week to two weeks are worse but like having a newborn it improves

Thanks all. That’s really helpful. I couldn’t see beyond wearing baggy trousers. But I have enough trouble getting into my trousers now with my knee as it is let alone knickers and socks so once I’ve had my new knee it’s time to start wearing skirts and dresses for a change - see it as new chapter
