DS2 not very well. What to do.

He was very quiet yesterday, hot, pale but with red cheeks (has all his teeth) and slept a bit longer than normal.

Just now he was coughing and was sick. He had had a croissant. Not enough to go to the GP but just wondered what I could do.

He is 2.11 btw.

Calpol/nurofen and fluids in small sips. Hope it passes and he feels better soon.

thats a low temp would just keep an eye on him and let him lol about watching tv

was he sick because he ws coughing so much?

gecko has just had an awful thing that was making her cough so much she was sick and the coughing was the worst in the night, was awful
but the doc just said viral cold/cough thing
lasted about a week, she is still coughing now but not in the night and not maling herself sick

took her to the doc again yesterday to check her chest again and now she is on antibiotics for a chest infection
hope your little on doesn't develop a chest infection

I suggest you get another thermometer, as if he had a temp of 34.1 he would most probably be dead. That is not a temp compatible with life so your thermometer is not working.

I sympathise as my 10mth old dd has been back and forth to the docs so many times in the last few weeks with a viral cough/cold.

Battery light was beeping so we changed them and the temp was 35.7. Better.

Much better. You would be really hypothermic and unconcious if it was that low. Normal temp is 36 to 37 but 5 over or under is normal for some people.

I think it was the battery being low that made it go wrong.

He has had a couple of crackers and some toast earlier and is now eating soup and bread. He is a bit more whiney than normal but he will have a sleep soon and that always helps. He is so rarely poorly, it is awful when he is. So little.

Theres a nasty sickness and diarrhoea bug going about,my DD1 age 3.10 has it I think,her temps been around 38.8-39.1,Ibuprofen(Calprofen or Nurofen) works better to control Temps,but you can give it with Calpol if needed.keep cool,but dont strip them,cover with a sheet and not duvet if in bed,don't let them shiver,as this causes "Core temp" to rise.Sips of water and light diet if tolerated,is fine.If they wont eat or drink,see GP as they get dehydrated quickly,or go to chemist and buy Diorolyte,which replaces fluid.Trust your instincts,if no sign of improvement in 48 hours see GP.

He is watching Thomas Tank after having soup and bread. Is going for a sleep soon.

He still isn't 100%. Been sleep for 3 hours. Awful nappy this morning.
