I’m perimenopause age (48) and I’ve had some unusual bleeding. A long cycle followed by Bleeding again 2 weeks after period.

i decide to go an get a private perliv ultrasound and they’ve found 2x 2,2cm hemorragic cysts.

I’m now completely freaked out as I’ve been feeling generally grotty for a while now. I’m absolutely terrified it’s cancer. I’ve booked in for blood test but they’re not for 2 weeks and another pelvic scan on the bus but lord knows when that will be.

has anyone had experience of this? Really worried

iirc they're quite common and usually resolve over a few weeks-months. Hope the repeat scan is reassuring.

Thank you for replying. I’ve never had a cyst before.

I was out on the 2nd for bowel cancer 2 years ago and am terrified for the same thing happening. I don’t feel very resilient at all at the moment

You quite possibly have had them before and just didn't know it. They're reasonably common and they can sometimes resolve themselves.

Thank you @SheridansPortSalut when you say they sometimes resolve themselves, does that mean if they don’t I will need to have them removed?

I've had a lot of them over the years due to endometriosis. I've had a few removed if they've gotten very big and we're causing a lot of pain. Mostly, in my case, they would just monitor them. If they were not causing pain they would just leave them be.

Personally, I'd be much more concerned it the cysts were solid.

Thank you for replying. I have horrible health anxiety and this is yet another thing to have to worry about.
